On October 14 during the World Health Summit, the One Europe for Global Health Coalition organized a side event titled One Digital Health at the French Embassy in Berlin. More than 30 participants from 15 countries and 4 continents gathered in the spirit of the World Health Summit to engage in a constructive dialogue addressing the various opportunities offered by digital solutions to foster health equity and access.

After a moving and inspiring keynote introduction by Prof. Detlev Ganten, co-founder of the Virchow Foundation, recalling the historical scientific collaboration between France and Germany, Benoit Miribel, president of the One Sustainable Health for All Foundation, highlighted the broad scope of the foundation’s activities.

A series of more than 15 concrete examples illustrated how data- and digital-related organizations and projects could contribute to global health, within the One (Sustainable) Health approach. Climate change, the environment, agriculture, human and animal health were addressed from the perspective of innovation, funding, surveillance, indicators, digital policies, and the fight against antimicrobial resistance, supported by applications, artificial intelligence, or even blockchain…

The meeting also fostered enthusiastic connections that are expected to endure and grow beyond this first founding edition, as Benoit Miribel emphasised in his conclusion. The Foundation is proposing to create an International Working Group (IWG10) focused on One Digital Health in the wake of this exchange !
