The OSH Factory: From Science That Guides to Solutions That Transform
On the occasion of World One Health Day, the OSH for All Foundation and the OSH Forum are organising the 3rd edition of the One Sustainable Health (OSH) Factory, on November 3, 2026, in Lyon, at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
Following two editions that showcased more than 100 projects from over 70 countries, the OSH Factory is entering a new phase: translating the One Sustainable Health approach into concrete, replicable and scalable solutions that can serve territories, both locally and internationally.
For this 3rd edition, the OSH Factory and OSH Forum are joining forces around:
Territorial habitability: from inspiration to action
Climate, water, biodiversity, soil, pollution, health and inequalities: these crises are interconnected and mutually reinforcing. Simply highlighting the links between human, animal and environmental health is no longer enough. We must also act on the very conditions that shape our shared future, through preventive and adaptive solutions.
This 3rd edition places territorial habitability at the heart of its ambition. It aims to protect water, soil and air, restore biodiversity, promote healthy food systems and adapt our cities. It also seeks to turn data into genuine decision-making levers.
Four Living Labs to turn ideas into solutions
Elected representatives, local authorities, companies, NGOs, foundations, researchers and institutions will come together around four key challenges:
- Water as a One Health Sentinel
- Living Soil & Sustainable Food
- Healthy & Habitable Cities
- One Health, Data & AI
The objective is not simply to share ideas, but to bring together different areas of expertise to advance concrete solutions, identify the barriers and levers for their deployment, and build the connections needed to take them to scale.
The November 3 OSH Factory becomes a major annual gathering
The November 3 event marks an important milestone in a process designed to continue over the long term, contributing in particular to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
The work initiated through the Living Labs will contribute to the development of a One Sustainable Health solutions catalogue, designed to raise the visibility of identified initiatives and facilitate connections with territories and partners able to support their further development.
The OSH Factory thus embodies the new ambition of the OSH Forum: to accelerate innovative cooperation and turn it into concrete, operational solutions.

The OSH Factory at a Glance
The One Sustainable Health (OSH) Factory is a collaborative, dynamic and inspiring space dedicated to building and accelerating innovative, transdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder projects around the One Sustainable Health approach.
This 3rd edition is structured around four Living Labs:

The Living Labs are collaborative working spaces where demonstrator projects, expertise and on-the-ground stakeholders come together to develop concrete solutions that support the habitability of territories.
The aim is to bring together different perspectives — researchers, elected representatives, local authorities, businesses, NGOs, funders, and experts in human and animal health, biodiversity, water, soil and data — and to identify the issues that require new forms of cooperation.

Opening Session: How can the One Sustainable Health approach foster innovative operational synergies?
From April to November: from the One Health Summit to the OSH Factory — putting an operational approach into practice
On April 7, 2026, the One Health Summit brought together several hundred public and private stakeholders united by a shared ambition: to prevent health risks by addressing their environmental and social determinants.
Six months later, the OSH Factory is helping translate this ambition into concrete solutions for territories, both locally and internationally.

Climate, water, soil, biodiversity, food and health: in our territories, everything is interconnected. Recognising these interdependencies is not enough; they must be integrated into decision-making.
The central question of the day: How can we put the One Sustainable Health approach into practice to build territories that remain liveable and sustainable over the long term?

Operational Focus #1 — Water & Soil: Reading the Dual Record of Living Systems to Take Action Accordingly
What the soil retains. What the water carries.
Water and soil are sentinels of territorial health. What we do to living systems, the soil records and the water carries — sometimes far, often for a long time.
But we first need to know how to read and cross-reference these signals. How can we move from data to alert, from alert to decision, and from decision to action?
This operational session will bring together those working on initiatives that integrate the links between water, soil, biodiversity and health. Their shared ambition is to turn this knowledge into a driver for action across territories.

Operational Focus #2 — Healthy & Liveable Cities
Heatwaves, droughts, floods: implementing preventive and adaptive action, here and elsewhere
Cities concentrate populations, activities and vulnerabilities. But they are also powerful laboratories where new responses are already being developed.
How can we adapt our cities to climate and health challenges while concretely improving the lives of those who live in them?
This session will bring together experiences and operational solutions that connect health, climate, urban planning, biodiversity and everyday uses. It will revolve around one central question: what can be replicated elsewhere, and under what conditions?

Operational Focus #3 — DATA & AI for One Health
From scattered data to territorial intelligence
Never before have we had access to so much data on human, animal and environmental health. Yet these data remain largely siloed, and their potential is still vastly underused.
How can we connect them, make sense of them and turn them into genuine decision-making levers?
This operational session will explore what data and AI can bring to territories: detecting risks earlier, anticipating crises, informing planning decisions and steering action. It will also address, openly and directly, the issues of reliability, governance and confidentiality that are essential to their effective use.

In the afternoon, it’s time for action!
Following the morning discussions, participants will join one of the 12 workshops, each focusing on a concrete challenge related to the habitability of territories: water, soil, cities, and data & AI.
At each table, the objective is simple: start from a challenge, bring together different experiences and perspectives, and develop a solution or tool that can be directly put into practice. Participants will:
→ understand the challenge
→ discover and challenge inspiring projects and experiences from different territories
→ identify the conditions for success
→ explore how they could be adapted to other territories
→ develop a practical tool or solution that can be directly put into practice
12 tables → 12 challenges → 12 tools or solutions developed collectively.
Bring your experiences, questions and ideas — and leave with concrete pathways for action in your territory.
