At the opening of the OSH for All Lyon 2025 Forum on 3 November 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron officially announced, in a video message the organisation of the One Health Summit to be held on April 7, 2026, in Lyon. In this address, he clearly outlined his intentions and concluded by acknowledging the commitment of the OSH Forum and the One Sustainable Health for All Foundation, which has supported the initiative since its launch in Lyon in 2021.

Implementing the “One Health” approach requires strengthened collaboration between public and private stakeholders to deliver innovative projects adapted to our ongoing transitions. Civil society and Indigenous knowledge anchor the “One Health” concept within communities, cultures, and diverse ecosystems, making strategies legitimate, inclusive, and context-sensitive.

By building bridges across sectors, strengthening governance, and fostering sustainable financing, they help translate high-level commitments into tangible and lasting action on the ground.

The OSH Forum continues its engagement and has been entrusted by the General Secretariat of the One Health Summit with organising the Civil Society session on the morning of 7 April, ahead of the presidential segment scheduled for the afternoon.

This operational momentum will continue the following day, 8 April, with the 2nd edition of the OSH Factory, organized at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). This collaborative space is dedicated to showcasing and co-developing operational projects related to the One Sustainable Health approach, integrating One Health / Planetary Health with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It will bring together expertise, territories, and field actors to transform One Health ambitions into concrete projects rooted in social, cultural, and environmental realities.

Join us in Lyon on 7 and 8 April to collectively build coordinated, inclusive responses adapted to major health, environmental, and social challenges.

Through 50 cards in a 45-minute quiz, the workshop helps participants understand what soil is, how it forms, and what ecological functions result from its properties, before exploring the full range of ecosystem services we derive from it, as well as the threats associated with our practices—threats that limit these services in time and space and directly impact “One Sustainable Health” issues.

Microbiomes at the Heart of One Health:
From Soil to Plate and Beyond

logos side event INRAE

Bringing together leading experts from across the One Health spectrum, the session will explore how microbiomes can help reduce antimicrobial resistance risks and influence nutrient cycling, crop productivity, animal health, food quality, and human well-being. It will also examine how microbiome disruption can amplify risks throughout the food chain.

By looking across the entire food system, the event will demonstrate how improving microbiome health in interconnected ecosystems can enhance resilience, contribute to food security, reduce environmental pressures, and promote long-term planetary health. The discussion will also highlight pathways and opportunities to integrate microbiome knowledge into policy, innovation, and One Health decision-making.

The event will also mark the launch of the Human Microbiome Cohort Alliance, a global initiative coordinated by the World Microbiome Partnership (WMP), aiming to collect one million human gut samples by 2030 to establish a global observatory for microbiome health.

One Health : How Are Media Tackling disinformation?

logo CFI

On the occasion of the One Health Festival, CFI- the French media development agency — is hosting a roundtable bringing together scientists, media and civil society stakeholders around a strategic question: how does disinformation threaten the One Health approach- and what role can media play?

The discussion will examine the key mechanisms through which misinformation undermines One Health: narratives, actors, distribution channels, delegitimization of science, and crisis escalation. It will also explore concrete responses, drawing notably on case studies from CFI projects in Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. The panel will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

Wash and Health: collective action for the sustainable eradication of cholera

logo fondation Veolia

It is 2026, and cholera remains a growing yet preventable global challenge.

Cholera outbreaks do not occur in countries with strong Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) systems, and leaders from health, environment, and infrastructure will emphasize WASH as the priority investment for eliminating cholera. This session applauds the Summit’s call for integrated, multisectoral action. Speakers will underscore that environmental systems are integral to health systems, and that WASH investments simultaneously reduce waterborne diseases and the antibiotic overuse that drives antimicrobial resistance. Speakers will also issue a call to action for the political and financial commitments needed to end cholera transmission.

Hybrid Session (in person & online)

Organisation

The One Sustainable Health for All Foundation, under the aegis of the Institut Pasteur, was established on September 1, 2020, in Lyon, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Its mission is to strengthen dialogue and foster innovative projects between public and private partners in support of sustainable health for all. This is carried out through a collaborative, inclusive, and borderless approach aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030).

The One Sustainable Health for All Foundation develops two complementary areas of activity:

logo OSH FORUM fondblanc 2

The One Sustainable Health (OSH) Forum, launched in 2021, promotes a transdisciplinary “One Health / Planetary Health” approach aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The OSH Forum organizes conferences and leads thematic International Working Groups (IWGs) aimed at facilitating the operational implementation of projects that integrate human, animal, and environmental health.
